During the trailer launch of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 held in Mumbai today, actor Kartik Aaryan was asked about his opinion on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s tweets in reference to a line in the trailer where the character says Donald Trump’s tweets used to be twisted. The punchline went on to become one of the most popular moments in the trailer. Kartik Aaryan replied smartly.
His character is heard saying in the trailer, “Donald Trump ke tweet aur chudailo ke feet hamesha ulte hi hote hain” (Donald Trump’s tweets and witches’ feet are always twisted.) The entertainment beat reporter perhaps knew Kartik Aaryan and Prime Minister Modi have often interacted with each other on Twitter.
Kiara Advani first prompted that his mother was sitting in the audience. But Kartik Aaryan was unmoved. He said, “Nahin, bilkul ulte nahin lagte. Jinke lag rahe the, wo bol diya uspe dialogue. Wo actually chudailo ke feet pe zyadah concentrate kiya tha wahan. Tumne galat jagah concentrate kiya,” (No, I don’t find Prime Minister Modi’s tweets twisted at all. Where I felt so, I included it in the dialogue. The dialogue’s focus was on witches’ feet, you concentrated somewhere else).”
While Kartik Aaryan tags Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his tweets many a time, the latter responds sometimes in the wittiest manner possible. For instance, during a meeting with Prime Minister Modi in 2019, Kartik Aaryan had shared a selfie with Karan Johar, Dinesh Vijan and Imtiaz Ali. The photo had Prime Minister Modi’s back facing the camera.
Kartik Aaryan tweeted, “Losers’ backfie with the Honorable PM! #ImtiazAli @karanjohar #Dineshvijjan (sic)” while sharing the photo. But Prime Minister Modi replied, “Not losers but Rockstars! No selfie Jab We Met but there will always be another occasion. 🙂 (sic).”
Another time was when Kartik requested his fans to maintain Covid-19 protocols in his own unique way. Prime Minister Modi tweeted Kartik’s video and wrote, “The young actors have something to say.. Its time to be ‘Zyada Savdhan’ and do ‘Corona ka Punchnama’! #IndiaFightsCorona (sic).”
Kartik Aaryan’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 releases on 20 May. The trailer of the film released today.
