Television actress Vaishali Takkar, who was among the rare people from the entertainment industry to say actor and her former co-star Sushant Singh Rajput had been murdered, was found dead at her home in Madhya Pradesh's Indore last morning. The actress kown for her roles in Sasural Simar Ka, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, Yeh Hai Aashiqui and Rakshabandhan was 26.
In an interview, the actress had called her friend Sushant Singh Rajput's death a "murder". Rajput was found dead at his apartment in Mumbai under mysterious circumstances on 14 June 2020, which Mumbai Police had declared a case of suicide promptly. While the CBI took over the case under a court direction after police's role in the probe raised doubts about the cops' professional integrity, the Narcotics Control Bureau hogged the media limelight by going after alleged drug addicts in Bollywood and deflected public attention from a possible foul play in Rajput's so-called suicide.
The CBI investigation was marred by adverse remarks by an AIIMS doctor while the Enforcement Directorate's probe to find out whether Rajput's death had a money-laundering connection was inconclusive.
In the aforementioned interview with Spotboye, the actress had said, “After people started saying that he was murdered, look at the marks on his body and all, I also started seeing those pics closely and found something is fishy. Initially, movie mafia was alleged for all this but now Rhea's truth is also coming out.”
When asked if Rhea Chakraborty was responsible for Sushant Singh Rajput’s death, Vaishali Takkar had said, “I feel it's a teamwork. It's not just one person who has done this. I don't know how long the trail is but definitely there are more people involved. I also think that the real culprits are hiding behind Rhea. She is definitely responsible for pushing him at the edge, that people are easily believing that he committed suicide.”
Indore Assistant Commissioner of Police M Rahman said today that the cops recovered a suicide note from her house, which suggests that she was stressed and was being harassed by a former boyfriend.
Originally from Mahidpur in Ujjain, she moved to Mumbai for a career in the film industry. She later moved to Jaipur and eventually to Sai Bagh Colony of Tejaji Nagar police station area of Indore where she had been living for the past one year with her brother and father. According to the police, when Vaishali Takkar did not come out of her room this morning, her father went in and found the body.
The distraught father and brother of the late actress said they had no clue that she would take such a drastic step.
Police reached the spot, recovered the dead body and sent it to Maharaja Yeshwantrao Hospital for post-mortem.
The police have initiated an investigation into the case after recovering an alleged suicide note. They collected the actress's mobile phone and recorded statements of family members.
