World Environment Day: Bollywood leads fight against plastic

Bollywood actors have come together to join the cause and say no to the use of plastics

|

Mumbai: celebrities Alia Bhatt, Arjun Kapoor, and Juhi Chawla have shared their photos on social media platform Twitter on the occasion of World Environmental Day. After the #HumFitTohIndiaFit challenge, one more challenge is going viral #BeatPlasticPollution, highlighting the ill-effects of plastic.

actors have come together to join the cause and say no to the use of plastics. The challenge has been initiated by UN’s Goodwill Ambassador Dia Mirza and has been picked up by other actors too.

Dia Mirza recently posted a picture in which a large number of plastic bottles, that are harmful towards the environment, were scattered in an open area. She cautions, “All those contesting Maharashtra Government’s ban on #singleuseplastics I want to ask you, WHY? How can you NOT see the damage it’s doing? Shouldn’t you be responsible for the waste you generate? We are drowning in plastics. Our health, water, soil, seas, nothing is spared.”

It takes one small step to #! I’ve replaced using plastic bottles with a metal one. It’s convenient & environment-friendly. Tagging @AnushkaSharma @RanveerOfficial & @ParineetiChopra to take up the challenge & inspire others to choose a sustainable future, Arjun tweeted.

by switching to steel or glass bottles today! Plastic bottles take 450 years or more to decompose, harming us and our environment. I’m now one step closer towards purging plastic from my life. Hope you guys will make the switch too! #LetsCoexist @deespeak, Alia tweeted.

Juhi Chawla also showed her concern by tweeting, “I am joining Rally for Rivers & United Nations to beat plastic pollution. Are you with me to try every bit to eliminate all single-use plastic from our world?

Later, Aditi Rao and Sonam Kapoor Ahuja take up the challenge and pitch in to save nature from the harmful effects of plastic.

When it comes to standing up for a social cause, these B-Town celebs always show us how to use social media effectively. Here’s waiting for others to take up the challenge and beat plastic pollution this World Environment Day.

Very soon Indian SM will be full of horrifying sob stories due to #Omicron ..

Very soon clout chasers will narrate once in a thousand cases to glorify ordinary work as extraordinary ..

In midst of them,
