New Delhi: Delhi Police and security agencies Wednesday night went into a tizzy, receiving information that the Rashtrapati Bhawan would be nuked. A CA student had made this call to the police.
Security agencies, along with a Delhi Police team, traced the location of the young man and reached his house in Lakshmi Nagar. The inquiry that followed revealed that, during a chat on a dating app, a young woman had issued the threat.
The police are now searching for the young woman. According to the police, on Wednesday night at around 10.30 PM, a young man called the police control room saying there would be a nuclear strike on Delhi the Rashtrapati Bhavan would be blown up. The call stirred the police and security agencies.
The location of the young caller was traced promptly. It was a house in Guru Ramdas Nagar of Lakshmi Nagar. A police team reached there immediately and picked the 23-year-old youth who had made the call for questioning.
The IB, special cell, local police and other investigating agencies questioned the youth at the Lakshmi Nagar police station. He said his girlfriend had got into a tiff with him, after which she issued the threat.
The young man said he informed the police for the sake of the country. The youth said during the interrogation that he was chatting with a young woman on dating app Tinder. The chat soon turned into a fight. On this, the young woman said that was the end of their relationship. Right after that, she said there would be a nuclear attack in Delhi and the Rashtrapati Bhawan would be targeted.
The young man then called the police control room. The police have released him after an inquiry. The woman has not been traced so far.
A team of BDS and dog Squad was called in view of the security of Rashtrapati Bhavan. A search campaign was launched around the residence of the President. However, nothing suspicious emerged from the search.
In view of the terrorist attack in Pulwama, the agencies took the matter seriously. The young man’s room was thoroughly examined.
The police have discovered that the youth suffers from obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). He is undergoing treatment at the IBS hospital.
The police are investigating whether the young man’s ‘information’ was a result of his psychological condition. According to police officials, being able to get hold of the woman is crucial to the case.
