Om Puri passes away

Mumbai: Actor Om Puri, 66, died of a heart attack on Friday morning at his Andheri residence. His body was taken to the Cooper hospital for postmortem, and the funeral will take place at 6 PM at the Oshiwara crematorium.

Many actors and Bollywood personalities expressed their grief at the news and headed for Andheri to pay their last respects.

Om Puri’s long career studded with critically acclaimed performances spanned Bollywood movies as well as Pakistani and Hollywood films too. He had received the Padma Shri and also the Order of the British Empire (OBE).
