Actor Kushal Punjabi (37), who worked in films and television, committed suicide by hanging himself at his home in Bandra, Mumbai. Last night, his body was found hanging in the house.
Police have recovered a suicide note from the spot. The actor did not hold anyone responsible for his death in the suicide note. He was reportedly suffering from depression.
TV actor Karanvir Bohra expressed grief on getting the news with a post on social media. Karanvir was a very close friend of Kushal. Sharing pictures of Kushal on Instagram, he wrote (edited), “Your demise has shocked the hell out of me. I’m still in denial @itsme_kushalpunjabi I know you are in a happier place, but this is unfathomable. The way you led your life really inspired me in more ways than one but what was I to know. Your zest for dancing, fitness, off-road biking, fatherhood and above all that, that smiling face of yours, your happy-go-lucky nature your warmth all that was so genuine. I’m gonna miss you so much #kushlani. You will always be remembered as a guy who lived a full life.”

Kushal Punjabi started his career as a model and dancer. He had been active in the industry for the past two decades. In 1995, he started his TV career with the serial A Mouthful of Sky on DD Metro channel. After this, he made Love Marriage, CID, Dekh Magar Pyaar Se, Kabhi Ya Kabhi Na Na, Yeh Dil Chahe More‘, Ssshhhh…Phir Koi Hai and Ahead of the Sky.
Kushal worked on shows like Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 7 and Adalat, Sajan Re Jhoot Mat Bolo and Ishq Mein Marjawan .
Kushal appeared also in many films. He acted in films like Andaz with Akshay Kumar, Lakshya directed by Farhan Akhtar, Kaal with Ajay Devgn, Salaam-e-Ishq and Dan Dana Dan Gol.
Kushal, born to a Sindhi family, married a European woman Audrey. They have a son Kian.
