Tulsi Gabbard: US funds 25 bio labs in Ukraine, more across world

The concern of Tulsi Gabbard about the spread of pathogens is supported by the fact that the WHO had urged Ukraine to destroy high-threat pathogens, which could spread of the facilities come under attack during the war with Russia

Former presidential candidate and Congress member Tulsi Gabbard shared made a video yesterday where she spoke of the US involvement in Ukraine biological laboratories, giving credence to the Russian allegation. has already said this could justify its attack on Ukraine.

In a two-minute video posted to her Twitter and timelines last morning, Gabbard said there were 25 to 30 American-funded biological laboratories in Ukraine. She called for an immediate at the laboratories as they could spread dangerous pathogens.

Gabbard’s concern about the spread of pathogens is supported by the fact that the World Health Organisation had called for Ukraine to destroy high-threat pathogens this week to prevent the spread of disease if a laboratory is attacked. However, so far no evidence of the US-supported biological labs in Ukraine has surfaced. The Joe Biden administration has consistently refuted the allegation.

Gabbard’s comments give apparent credibility to a particularly dangerous Russian allegation.

Earlier, the White House and Nato had warned the “false” charge could be a justification for a renewed Russian attack on Ukraine.

The allegation became popular on Alex Jones’ InfoWars platform and on social media several weeks ago, and since was co-opted by Russian and Chinese state-run media whereas China has itself been fighting the strong perception backed by investigative reports of several intelligence agencies, including the British MI6, that it was manufacturing a biological weapon in the labs of the Wuhan Institute of Virology, which leaked accidentally or was released deliberately to devastate the economy of the world that would have to be dependent on China thereafter.

“As we have said all along, is inventing false pretexts in an attempt to justify its own horrific actions in Ukraine. The United States does not own or operate any chemical or biological laboratories in Ukraine,” said State Department spokesman Ned Price on 10 March.

Elena Branson, charged by American authorities on 8 March for allegedly acting as a Russian agent, made donations to only one American politician, according to filings by the Daily Beast, Gabbard said.

The Kremlin sent a memo to state-run Russian media calling on outlets to use as much footage of Fox News commentator Tucker Carlson sharing his controversial stances supporting and criticising the US and Nato as possible, according to Russian government agency documents obtained by Mother Jones and published yesterday. Aside from former President Donald Trump, Carlson and Gabbard have emerged as perhaps the two most prominent Russian sympathisers in the US.
