New Delhi: Pune Police has intercepted an internal communication between Maoist leaders that reveals a sinister plot to eliminate Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This communication allegedly talks about a ‘Rajiv Gandhi type’ assassination of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
“Modi-led Hindu fascist regime is bulldozing its way into the lives of indigenous Adivasis. In spite of big defeats like Bihar and West Bengal, Modi has successfully established BJP government in more than 15 states,” the letter reads.
The five people with alleged Maoist links, arrested on Monday in connection to January’s Bhima-Koregaon violence, knew about a plan for a Rajiv Gandhi-type of the assassination of an important political figure, it has been claimed.
Public prosecutor Ujjwala Pawar made the revelations in a special court on Thursday, saying documents seized from the arrested persons say that a banned organisation, Communist Party of India (Maoist), was planning the assassination.
Pawar said that Sudhir Dhawale, Surendra Gadling, Mahesh Raut, Shoma Sen and Rona Wilson were planning to purchase weapons for the act that would be funded by CPI (Maoist). While arguing for their police custody, Pawar stated that all five have strong links with the Maoist organisation, which has been proven by incriminating evidence found by cops.
“One of the letters seized from Wilson’s house says that a member of the banned organisation had written to another member, proposing a Rajiv Gandhi-type incident,” Pawar said, adding, “The sender mentions that it sounds suicidal and there is a chance that they might fail, but the party must deliberate the proposal.” Pawar also told the court that the letter mentions procurement of an M4 gun and four lakh rounds.
Public prosecutor Ujjwala Pawar said Sudhir Dhawale, Surendra Gadling, Mahesh Raut, Shoma Sen and Rona Wilson were planning to purchase weapons for the act that would be funded by CPI (Maoist).

Members of banned terrorist outfit Jamaat-ud-Dawa (JuD), led by 2008 Mumbai attack mastermind Hafiz Saeed, openly spoke about assassinating Prime Minister Narendra Modi and “disintegrating” India at a public platform.
“Flag of Islam will be hosted in India and America. Modi will be killed. India and Israel will get disintegrated as more and more martyrs will be produced,” said Maulana Bashir Ahmad Khaki, a senior JuD functionary said.
Maulana Bashir was speaking at the Friday sermon, during the holy month of Ramzan 2018, in Rawalakot city of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir’s (PoK’s) Poonch district.
He further instigated the listeners to wage Jihad (holy war) during the holy month of Ramzan.
“Ramadan is the pious month of ‘Jihad-o-Qital’ (Jihad and killing). Those who attain martyrdom while waging Jihad, doors of heaven remain open
“JuD cadres are still waging Jihad in Kashmir and fighting with Indian forces in Kashmir. They are waging Jihad for freedom of Kashmir and destruction of India. Urged participants to raise a flag of ‘Jihad’ against infidels,” he said while requested the people in PoK to allow their sons to join for Jihad.
The global community has been cracking down on JuD, the front organisation for the banned Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT), since the beginning of the year. JuD chief Hafiz Saeed, who was under house arrest from January to November, carries a $10 million American bounty on his head for his role in terror activities.

Coimbatore Police had arrested a 1998 serial blast convict after a recorded telephonic conversation went viral on social media in which he is purportedly heard saying he is planning to kill Prime Minister Narendra Modi, police said.
They said the eight-minute long conversation, which is being circulated on social media, was between a man, who has completed a jail term in the blast case and lives in Kuniyamuthur in the city, and a transport contractor.
“The conversation was mainly related to finances about vehicles. But suddenly the blast convict was heard saying ‘we have decided to eliminate Modi, as we were the ones who had planted bombs when Advani visited the city in 1998,” the police said.
The city was rocked by a series of bomb blasts in February 1998 in which 58 people were killed and property worth crore was destroyed.
The city police formed special teams to investigate the recorded conversation and verify the genuineness of the persons in it, the police said in a press release. The man was arrested based on the conversation.
