Telegram channel ‘Hindu Ra*diyan’ after Bulli Bai’s ‘Sulli Deals’

Seeing Mumbai Police's promptness in the Bulli Bai case, people asked the government why it was taking no action on the Telegram channel, which was then blocked

Even as people are wondering how an orphan living off a government grant in Uttarakhand could have masterminded the Bulli Bai scandal — fashioned like the infamous “Sulli Deals” of July 2021 — targeting Muslim women (pejoratively referred to as “sulli“), a Telegram channel has surfaced called “Hindu Ra*diyan” (Hindu whores), which, on being reported, was promptly banned by the union government.

Minister of Information Technology Ashwini Vaishnaw confirmed that the government has blocked the Telegram channel that allegedly targeted Hindu women and circulated obscene photos and abused them online. This follows Mumbai Police’s detention of the referred to above and the arrest of a third-year engineering student from in connection with the Bulli Bai app case which targeted and abused Muslim women online.

Soon after the Bulli Bai app spread on and people started slamming right-wing groups across India for targeting Muslim women, social media users pointed out that there are Telegram channels and groups that targeted Hindu women.

After seeing the promptness of Mumbai Police in the Bulli Bai case, people questioned the government why no steps have been taken to prevent online harassment of Hindu women.

Telegram channel “Hindu Ra*diyan” was called out for spreading obscene photos of women and hate messages. This Telegram channel now stands blocked.

“Channel blocked. Government of India coordinating with police authorities of states for action,” tweeted Minister of Information Technology Vaishnaw. There’s no information yet on who created this Telegram channel and what action the police have taken.

Telegram group, Bulli Bai: Two sick revenge cybercrimes

As said in Sirf News yesterday, whether or not nudity or rivalry between countries is involved in these crimes, the Bulli Bai and now “Hindu Ra*diyan” on Telegram are of the nature where the perpetrator targets a group to settle some score as in revenge pornography and hacking of government websites.

These photos were circulated on to harass women online. The or the platform may be different but the modus operandi is similar.

In the case of Bulli Bai, a bunch of perverts gathered photos from sites like LinkedIn and Twitter of successful and influential women, belonging to the Muslim community, and created an app called Bulli Bai on GitHub. Through that app, photos of the were showcased with the caption “Your Bulli Bai of the Day” is…

While the Bulli Bai app was known to a very small set of online users, what converted this into full-fledged online harassment was when a section of Twitter users started tagging the handles of women found on the Bulli Bai app. Soon, the app became viral and the targeted women started to get trolled and bullied online.
