Tanhaji… (based on the historic character of Tanaji Malusare, a trusted lieutenant of Chhatrapati Shivaji) is the 100th film of Ajay’s career. The film tells the story of Tanaji Malusare’s valour. The film is based on the Maratha-Mughal War in the Sinhagad Fort in 1670. After a long time, Kajol made a comeback on the silver screen with this film where she shares several frames with Ajay Devgn, her real-life husband. Kajol plays Savitribai Malusare in the film.

In the film, apart from Ajay Devgn and Kajol, Saif Ali Khan has played Udaybhan Rathore and Sharad Kelkar is seen in the role of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Om Raut has directed the movie. The film has so far grossed a total of Rs 167.45 crore. The film is high on Hindu nationalism, a rarity in Bollywood films.
