The International Cricket Council (ICC) on 17 August announced the fixtures for T20 World Cup, scheduled to be held in the UAE and Oman from 17 October to 14 November. As many as eight teams will be involved in the qualification round from which four will make to the Super 12 stage, which will get underway from 23 October.
The much-anticipated India versus Pakistan clash, as reported by media, will get underway on 24 October in Dubai. India and Pakistan have been drawn in Group 2 of the T20 World Cup Super 8 stage which also features Afghanistan and New Zealand as the other two automatic qualifiers.
India will then take on New Zealand on 31 October in Dubai before moving to Abu Dhabi to play Afghanistan on 3 November. They will return to Dubai to face the two qualifiers on 5 and 8 November.
India play a total of four matches in Dubai and one in Abu Dhabi. None of their Super 12 matches are scheduled in Sharjah.
Meanwhile, Group 1 action of the Super 12 gets underway with two heavyweight battles. South Africa and Australia kickstart the Super 12 action in Abu Dhabi which will be followed by the repeat of the 2016 T20 World Cup final between England and West Indies in Dubai on 23 October.
The semifinal matches will take place in Abu Dhabi on 10 November and in Dubai on 11 November, with both having reserve days. The final will take place in Dubai on 14 November with with the following day acting as the reserve day for the summit clash.
