Suman Rao, Miss India 2019, tells her story

Suman Rao, who studied BCom and chartered accountancy, said after winning the title that every challenge comes with the power to do it. Read further:

Mumbai: Suman Rao of Rajasthan won the title of Miss India 2019 on Sunday. Femina organises the Miss India contest every year. The 2019 chapter was held in Sardar Ballabh Bhai Patel Stadium, Mumbai. Last year’s winner Anukreethy Vas from Tamil Nadu crowned her successor, Suman.

Suman Rao, who studied BCom and chartered accountancy, said after winning the title that every uncertain thing comes with the power to do it. She is most impressed by her parents. She said, “The greatest achievement of my life for me is that my parents are really happy with me and I am proud of them.”

Suman was the first runner-up of Miss Navi Mumbai in 2018.

Twenty-year-old Suman was born on 23 November 1999. Earlier, she had won the title of Miss India Rajasthan 2019. She won the Miss Rampwalk award in the course of the contest.

Suman was born in Rajasthan but brought up in Mumbai. She is passionate about dancing and is a student of north Indian classical dance form Kathak. But Suman says her greatest passion is modelling.

The model will now represent India in the contest for Miss World 2019. The international event will be held in Pattaya, Bangkok, in December 2019.

A total of 30 participants had been shortlisted for the final round of this all-India competition to choose the topmost models of the country.

Karan Johar, Manisha Paul and former Miss World and Miss India Manushi Chillar were the hosts of the event yesterday. Actress Huma Qureshi, Chitrangda Singh, Remo D’Souza, Ayush Sharma and Miss World 2018 Vanessa Ponse were the judges for the contest.

The last time Miss India 2018 titles titled ‘Duk’ was performed by Anukrata Das of Tamil Nadu. Meenakshi Chaudhary of Haryana was the first runner-up.

Bollywood actress Malaika Arora, actor Bobby Deol, Kunal Kapoor, cricketer Irfan Pathan and KL Rahul were among the judges of the Miss India panel last year.

Winner of Miss India 2018, winner Virar Vasudev,  Actress Huma Qureshi, Pithor Ganda, Remo D’Souza, Ayush Sharma, Miss World 2018 Vanessa Ponce, Shahane Picoc and Mukesh Chhabra are presented in this competition.
