Television actor and Bigg Boss 13 winner Sidharth Shukla has died of a heart attack. He was 40. The famous television and film star won a million hearts with Balika Vadhu. He died on 2 September, an official at the Cooper Hospital said. He is survived by his mother and two sisters.
Hospital sources said Sidharth Shukla had taken some medicine before sleeping and he did not wake up thereafter. Later, the hospital confirmed that he had died due to a heart attack. The postmortem is on and the body will be discharged soon.
This news came as a shock to his fans as the actor had recently appeared on reality shows Bigg Boss OTT and Dance Deewane 3 with rumoured girlfriend Shehnaaz Gill. The actor’s last screen outing was Ekta Kapoor’s popular show Broken But Beautiful 3 in which he played the role of Agastya.
Born on 12 December 1980 in Mumbai to Ashok Shukla and Rita Shukla, Sidharth Shukla had roots in Prayagraj (formerly Allahabad), Uttar Pradesh. He completed his schooling at St Xavier’s High School, Fort, and later graduated in interior designing from Rachana Sansad School of Interior Design.
Sidharth Shukla began his career in showbiz as a model and made his acting debut with a lead role in the television show Babul Ka Aangann Chootey Na. He later appeared on shows such as Jaane Pehchaane Se… Ye Ajnabbi, and Love U Zindagi but became a household name with Balika Vadhu. He participated in reality shows including Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 6, Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 7 and Bigg Boss 13. In 2014, Sidharth Shukla made his Bollywood debut with the Karan Johar-produced Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania where he had a supporting role.
