Dhawan has an average of 53.70 in the World Cup. He has scored 537 runs in 10 matches in this tournament

London/New Delhi: According to the BCCI, the injury of Shikhar Dhawan will be monitored. No decision has been taken on his replacement so far. Dhawan will still be with Team India.

Opener Dhawan, who scored a magnificent century against Australia, got injured in the match. Pacer Nathan Coulter-Nile’s bouncer had hit Dhawan’s thumb, after which he was treated on the field. In spite of the injury, Dhawan continued his innings and scored his 17th century in ODIs.

Dhawan out of matches against New Zealand, Pakistan

Dhawan will remain out for three weeks, beginning with the match against New Zealand on Thursday. After this, he will not play in the match against Pakistan on Sunday. Even against Afghanistan, West Indies, England and Bangladesh, Dhawan will find it difficult to play.

If Dhawan regains fitness at the right time, he can play against Sri Lanka in the last league match of the World Cup.
