Media photographers and paparazzi snapped Sara Ali Khan and Shraddha Kapoor leaving the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) zone office today after they faced hours of questioning. The NCB quizzed the two about their acquaintance and association with Sushant Singh Rajput and the ongoing drugs probe. Both the actresses have reportedly denied all claims related to drug consumption.
The NCB grilled Sara and Shraddha for over five hours today. Shraddha allegedly accepted attending a party with Sushant after the success of their film Chhichhore. She conceded also the allegation that some people in the party consumed weed and alcohol at the late actor’s guesthouse in Pawana. But Shraddha has denied all allegations of consuming drugs.
The two actresses accepted the digital proof and chats that contained messages about narcotic substances. However, they denied they consumed contraband. Furthermore, Sara has reportedly stated that it was Sushant who was a consumer of drugs.
The NCB recorded the statement of Sara that lasted around 4.5 h. She left the NCB office at about 5.30 PM. Shraddha left around 5.55 PM after facing the NCB sleuths for nearly six hours, an official said. While Sara had made her Bollywood debut with Sushant in Kedarnath, Shraddha was seen opposite him in Chhichhore.
Early today, the NCB questioned Deepika Padukone about the drug chats between her manager Karishma Prakash, Jaya Saha and other KWAN executives. The NCB brought Deepika and her manager together in a room for questioning, sources said.
Deepika, who reached a guest house in Colaba in south Mumbai — from where an NCB team is operating — around 9.50 AM, left around 3.50 PM. The bureau allowed Karishma Prakash to go home around 3.40 PM, sources said.
The agency will review all the statements now.
The NCB has arrested Sushant’s girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty, her brother Showik and some suspected drug peddlers in the case. Sushant was found dead at his Bandra home on 14 June.
