Salman Khan gifted her no house, says Ranu Mondal

If Salman Khan had given me a house, he would have presented it to me in front of everyone: social media sensation-turned-singer Ranu Mondal

Mumbai: A few days ago, there were reports that actor and star Salman Khan had gifted a house costing Rs 55 lakh to Ranu Mondal whose video shot her to fame, attracting composer Himesh Reshammiya to record some songs with her. This was a matter of gossip while neither Salman nor Ranu had made a statement on this. But Ranu has now revealed the truth of the viral news about Salman’s gift. Ranu made this disclosure during an interview.

Ranu Mondal, in an interview given to a website, exposed the truth behind the ‘news’. Ranu said, “No, if he had given me a house, he would have presented it to me in front of everyone. He would say, ‘Yes, I have given Ranu Mondal ji a house.’ He does things openly. Do not presume things until they happen.”

It was rumoured further that Salman Khan had given Ranu a chance to sing in his upcoming film Dabangg 3. However, Atindra Chakraborty, who had shared Ranu Mondal’s song on social media and who is now her manager, rubbished this gossip, too.

Talking to Hindustan Times, Atindra said, “All this is fake news. I’ve been getting several calls since this rumour started doing rounds. She has no such offer. The house that is being made for her is by Ranaghat local administration. The channel who gave her the opportunity to perform live on TV along with the local administration helped her get her Aadhaar card made.”

However, Atindra clarified that Bollywood, Bengali and south Indian film industries were showering her with offers. “Just a day before, we got a call from AR Rahman’s office. Sonu Nigam has also shown interest in collaborating with Ranu ji. We’ve decided to concentrate on these offers right now, along with Bollywood offers,” he said, adding that Ranu had received offers to perform live as well.

Earlier, a video showing Salman Khan crying had gone viral. A caption on the video claimed that Salman wept on hearing Ranu’s song. A careful look at the video revealed that the video was not real. It was doctored.
