Mumbai: Manish Malhotra has something special planned this August. The show may still have a few days to go, but the designer just announced his showstoppers, Katrina Kaif and Salman Khan, much to the delight of fans.

Bollywood’s favourite fashion designers revealed this news on Instagram. He first revealed that Katrina would be walking the ramp and wrote, “The very beautiful and stunning @katrinakaif #favourite always #Muse to the #IndoPersian #collection#FashionShow #1 st August #manishmalhotralabel #jwmarriott@jwmarriottjuhu #sunilsethidesignalliance@mmalhotraworld #HauteCouture 2018/19.”

He then spoke about Katrina being accompanied on the ramp by Salman. “#theoneandonly#extraordinary #SuperStar himself @beingsalmankhan #Muse #ShowStopper#FashiomShow #Couture 2018/19 #IndoPersian #collection #Show#1stAugust #jwmarriott @jwmarriottjuhu#sunilsethidesignalliance#manishmalhotralabel @mmalhotraworld#celebrating 13 years of #manishmalhotralabel #HauteCouture2018/19.”

Salman and Katrina have worked in many films together such as Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya, Yuvraj, Ek Tha Tiger and Tiger Zinda Hai. Katrina was also a part of Salman’s Dabangg tour. Katrina and Salman broke up a few years ago but continue to stay friends.

Apart from being one of Bollywood’s favourite designers, Malhotra has also established a reputation for taking his shows to the next level. His runways not only feature ethereal gowns and lehengas, but also elaborate sets, detailed themes and celebrity showstoppers. His 2017 collection, ‘East Meets West’, for example, was a revelry of jewel-encrusted cape sleeves, embellished bustiers, and floor-length open jackets. And showstopper Alia Bhatt was only the cherry on the cake of what was already a stunning sartorial display.

Malhotra left no stone unturned for his 2016 collection either—titled ‘The Persian Story’, the show took place on a mirror-finished runway, amidst yellow lanterns and potted plants. Drop shoulder blouses and intricate embroidery was seen here, along with tasteful lehengas that were so richly embellished that they had Deepika Padukone in a red showstopper ensemble to close the show. Malhotra’s display this season promises to be no less decadent.

Manish Malhotra’s 2018 show will take place on 1 August at JW Marriott, Juhu, Mumbai.

Salman will next be seen in Ali Abbas Zafar’s directorial Bharat while Katrina is shooting for Shah Rukh Khan’s Zero and Aamir Khan’s Thugs of Hindostan.
