New Delhi: There seems to be a rift brewing between Team India skipper Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma after considering the recent activities.

Rohit Sharma has apparently unfollowed the Indian captain Virat Kohli on social media pages such as Twitter and Instagram, which has caused a huge stir among fans. The fans have now started speculating over whether all is well between the two or not.

Rohit has 12.4m followers on 5 September but he follows only 46 people a list that does not include Kohli on the popular social media platform.

Similarly, the captain of the India cricket team is not among the 84 people whom Rohit is following on Instagram.

While Kohli is not following Rohit on Twitter, the latter is among the 86 who the skipper follows on the photo-sharing platform.

Rohit had then caused a storm by liking a tweet where a user took a dig at the BCCI. “@ImRo45 void is filled up by @AnushkaSharma I believe WAG’s are not allowed till 3rd test. Different rules for different players!”

It should be noted that Rohit is being constantly ignored in Test matches despite being one of the best batsmen in the country. He had scored a century in the T20I and ODI series against England but was still overlooked.

The vice-captain and an integral member of the limited-overs sides, Rohit was not part of the Indian squad for the one-off Test against Afghanistan in June as well.

The 31-year-old has not played a Test for India since the South Africa tour earlier this year. Notably, he was preferred over Ajinkya Rahane for the first two Tests of the three-match rubber.

However, he was axed from the playing XI for the third Test after some ordinary performances in the previous two Tests (78 runs in four innings).

Last week, the BCCI announced that Rohit would lead the Men in Blue for the upcoming Asia Cup 2018 tournament with Kohli being rested.
