The civic body of the city in Gujarat is not leaving any stone unturned to make the roadshow a memorable experience for citizens and the dignitaries

US President Donald Trump‘s Air Force One will land at Ahmedabad Airport on Monday. His two-day visit to India will also feature wife Melania, daughter Ivanka and son-in-law Jared Kushner. He will have a grand reception in Ahmedabad. Trump will hold a roadshow with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the two will address the public meeting at the ‘Namaste Trump’ event at Motera Stadium.

Officials and security agencies are busy finalising preparations in view of the US President’s visit to the city. In addition to the tight security arrangements in the city, officials of the US Intelligence Agency, as well as personnel of the National Security Guard (NSG) and Special Security Group (SPG), will attend the programmes.

Officials said police would use drone piercing technology to kill any suspected drone on the route. Along with this, anti-sniper teams of NSG will also be deployed on the route. Home Minister Amit Shah is also in Ahmedabad to take stock of the preparations.

According to Ahmedabad Police Commissioner Ashish Bhatia, during the visit of US President Donald Trump, 33 DCPs, 75 Assistant Commissioners, 300 Police Inspectors, 1000 Sub Inspectors, 12000 Jawans and 2000 women policemen will be stationed in Ahmedabad.

All the routes here will be kept closed during Donald Trump’s visit to Sabarmati Ashram. The commissioner said that there would be no permission to fly any drone during the visit of the US President. Apart from this, DRDO-made anti-drone systems will be deployed in Ahmedabad.

Sabarmati Ashram officials said that despite the uncertainty over Trump’s visit to the ashram during his roadshow, all preparations have been made in view of the possibility of his arrival with Modi. During MK Gandhi’s stay here, Sabarmati Ashram was the main centre in the country’s freedom struggle.

According to the plan, the US President will be given a grand welcome upon reaching Ahmedabad airport, from where Modi and Trump will conduct a 22-km long roadshow. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has tweeted a video welcoming Trump.

Officials estimate that about one lakh people will be en route to the roadshow. The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation has named the event “India Roadshow”. The civic body of the city does not want to leave any stone unturned to make the roadshow a memorable experience for the people of Gujarat and the dignitaries.

Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation Commissioner Vijay Nehra tweeted on Sunday, “Hello #Ahmedabad! Come, be a part of the 22 km long MEGA #IndiaRoadShow. Let’s showcase the best of Indian Culture & Diversity to the World #NamasteTrump. Keep following @AmdavadAMC for more details.

Artists from almost all states have been invited to present at the roadshow.

After the roadshow, Modi and Trump will arrive at the stadium in Motera for the ‘Namaste Trump’ event, where the two leaders will address a gathering of over one lakh people.

This cricket stadium in Motera is the largest stadium in the world with a seating capacity of 1,10,000 spectators. The old stadium has been demolished and given a completely new look. The old stadium was built in 1982 with a seating capacity of 49,000 people.

A grand cultural function will be held at the stadium before Modi and Trump’s address, in which well-known singer Kailash Kher and other artists have been invited to entertain the public. The city police had earlier told that more than 10,000 security personnel would be appointed under the leadership of 25 senior IPS officers in view of security at the roadshow and ‘Namaste Trump’ event.
