Very soon a train is going to be launched with a theme based on Ramayana. The interior of the train will be based on stories from the Ramayana. Bhajan will be played on the train during the journey.
The name of this train is Ramayana Express, which will travel to the pilgrimage centres associated with Lord Rama. The Ramayana Express is expected to begin its journey any day after 10 March.
“The train will start from different locations — north, south, east and west — so that people from across the country can avail its services. The exterior and the interior of the train will be Ramayana-themed. We will have bhajans playing on board. IRCTC is planning the schedule and packages and we are hoping to run the train after Holi,” Railway Board Chairman VK Yadav said during a press conference.
The Indian Railways already runs a special train in the name of Lord Rama, which covers the route the seventh incarnation of Lord Vishnu took from Ayodhya to Rameswaram. It is called Sri Ramayana Express service that had started on 14 November 2019 in which 800 passengers can travel at a time.
The stoppages of the Ramayana circuit include Ayodhya, Nandigram, Sitamarhi, Janakpur, Varanasi, Prayag, Shringverpur, Chitrakoot, Nasik, Hampi and Rameshwaram. The itinerary of the new Ramayana Express is yet to be released.
