NTR and Sridevi acted in as many as 14 movies including hits such as Vetagaadu, Bobbili Puli, Justice Chowdhary and Kondaveeti Simham

Mumbai: NTR biopic which is in the pipeline has been making news for bringing Vidya Balan on board for the project. Now speculation has it that Rakul Preet Singh might be playing the role of Sridevi in the film.

NTR and Sridevi acted in as many as 14 movies including hits such as Vetagaadu, Bobbili Puli, Justice Chowdhary and Kondaveeti Simham.

According to a report, a source close to the project said, “Rakul was approached for the role and the actress was elated to be part of the project. However, the date clash could be a problem. But things are still in the nascent stage and it’s premature to comment.”

Rakul Preet is busy with multiple projects right now. One is NGK directed by Selvaraghavan and starring Suriya in the lead role. This film is expected to release for Diwali 2018 and the shoot is currently in progress. The actor is also a part of Karthi’s film Dev. The two stars had previously worked in the critically and commercially hit Theeran Adhigaram Ondru. She is also a part of a Bollywood project opposite Ajay Devgn.

The NTR biopic is one of the most awaited films in Tollywood. The project went on floors earlier this year and is being helmed by Radha Krishna Jagarlamudi, popularly known as Krish. The film will also mark the debut of Vidya Balan in Tollywood.

In Dec 2016, she signed her next film titled Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru to pair opposite Karthi. After a small sabbatical in Hindi films, she signed Neeraj Pandey’s Aiyaary starring opposite Sidharth Malhotra. In early January 2018, she signed her next Tamil film opposite to Suriya under Selvaraghavan direction. In 2018, Rakul Preet Singh to star with Ajay Devgn and Tabu in Luv Ranjan’s next Bollywood film romcom.

In March 2018, she signed another Tamil film starring opposite Karthi for the second time after the success of Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru.
