Pulwama: Who benefited the most, asks Rahul; BJP retorts

This is not a new thought in the INC. Barely a month after the Pulwama attack, Hariprasad of the party had said the terrorist attack was a match fixed between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Pakistani counterpart Imran Khan

BJP on Friday reacted sharply to the statement of former INC president Rahul Gandhi on the anniversary of the Pulwama terror attack, saying that was a brutal attack and that the Nehru-Gandhi family could not think of anything other than benefits.

BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra, in his tweet, targeted Rahul Gandhi and said, ” That was a Dastardly attack. And this is a dastardly comment Who Benefitted the most? Mr Gandhi, can you think beyond Benefits? Of course not. This so-called Gandhi family can never think beyond Benefits. Not just materialistically corrupt, their Souls are also Corrupt.”

On the anniversary of the attack, the former INC president had asked through a tweet what had happened to the investigation into the attack so far. “Who benefited the most from the attack?”

This thought is not new in the INC. When was the talk of the entire nation in 2019, Hariprasad of the party had said the terrorist attack was a case of “match-fixing” between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Pakistani counterpart Imran Khan.

On 14 February 2019, there was a major terrorist attack in Pulwama, Jammu and Kashmir, in which 40 CRPF jawans were killed. Terrorists carried out the attack by ambushing a CRPF convoy with an explosive-laden bus on the Jammu- highway.

Within weeks, India had retaliated by bombing the training of Jaish-e-Mohammed, suspected to be behind the attack, deep inside Pakistan on the Balakot hills.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while paying tribute to the martyrs of the heinous terrorist attack on security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s last year, said on Friday that the will never forget the martyrdom of these martyrs. The prime minister said in his tweet, “Tributes to the brave martyrs who lost their lives in the gruesome Pulwama attack last year. They were exceptional individuals who devoted their lives to serving and protecting our nation. India will never forget their martyrdom.”
