New Delhi: The government has established Indian Bridge Management System (IBMS) for inventorization and condition survey of all bridges on National Highways. In a written reply to a question in Rajya Sabha, the Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways Munsukh L Mandaviya stated that under Setu Bharatam scheme, improvement of approximately 1500 bridges have been planned for construction, reconstruction or strengthening, as required.
