Producer of PM Narendra Modi responds to Javed Akhtar

Mumbai: The trailer of PM Narendra Modi featuring Vivek Oberoi has been in the limelight since its release. Many fans have created memes of dialogues of this movie; some say the film is a drama far removed from reality. On Friday, songwriters Javed Akhtar and Sameer had wondered how their names figured in the credits when they did not write any song for the film. Responding to the controversy, producer Sandeep Singh has issued a clarification.

Singh acknowledged in an interview that Javed Akhtar and Sameer were great lyricists. “I grew up listening to their songs. In the film, we used a song from the movie 1947 Earth that was released in the year 1998, ‘Ishwar Allah,’ Singh said.

“I had requested T-Series to give us this song because it matched the theme of our movie. It’s a fantastic song and I think it’s one of the best works of Javed Saab,” Singh explained.

The producer of PM Narendra Modi further said he has used a song from Mukul Anand’s film Dus too. “The song starring Sanjay Dutt and Salman Khan was never released. Sameer wrote the song which we have taken from that movie. We had asked for these two songs from T-Series and we will use them in our film,” the producer said.

“I think Javed Saheb and Sameer ji should have met me or to ask why his name was added to the credit list of the film. This issue was very simple but the controversy is inexplicably low,” the producer added.

The shooting of PM Narendra Modi was finished in just 38 days. Talking about the making of the film, the producer said that the project took a lot of time in research “but we finished the shooting very quickly”.

The film was to be released on 12 April but the producer and team decided to release it before the first day of the general election — 5 April.

There is practically no country with 20%-90% Muslim population it’s either below 20 or above 90%.
Reason: once 20%, non Muslims population tends to convert to Islam!
