Washington, DC: As more and more results trickle in, it is becoming increasingly more likely that Donald J Trump will be the 45th President of the US.
With wins in crucial battleground States like Ohio and Florida, Trump has made giant strides in the direction of the White House. Trump has also all but bagged the other vital toss-up States of North Carolina and New Hampshire and almost secured even Michigan, a foregone Blue State, at the time of going into print. Having led almost all the way in Virginia, a State where the Democrats were all but destined to win, he narrowly lost it to Clinton.
A GOP win in Virginia would have meant ‘Game Over’ for the former Secretary of State and First Lady.
Among Trump’s big wins include Texas with 38 electoral college votes.
Among the big States, Hillary Clinton has to her credit California with its huge share of 55 votes, and New York with its 29 votes, apart from sweeping the Northern Atlantic coast. Losses in projected Blue States, however, have seriously dented her chances, at least for now.
