New Delhi: Priyanka Chopra has been slammed by her Indian fans because she apparently ‘offended’ them with her latest Quantico episode. As far as the narrative of the episode goes, a bunch of Indian men plan an attack on Manhattan and in the end blame it on Pakistanis.

In the episode, which aired on 1 June, an MIT professor acquires uranium with which he plans to make a nuclear bomb. An India-Pakistan summit to be held in New York City is his target.

“I don’t even know what sort of ridiculous narrative was this episode trying to set.. nonsensical stuff,” one person wrote on Twitter. “What kind of stupid a** episode is this??” wrote another.

The storyline has never been a great strength of Quantico. They tried the time-jump technique in the first season to show how Alex Parrish, the character Priyanka Chopra plays, became an FBI agent. The novelty of Bollywood actress being lead in an American show covered up the lack of strength in the story.

The second season was downhill hence the shorter version of the third season and eventual wrap-up. Quantico‘s ratings were on a downward curve, but it was Indian audience that continued to support PeeCee’s show.

The third instalment in the Quantico franchise will go off-air after the current season and even though the storyline of the show, as always, is weak, this time it is creating a lot of buzz on the social media.

Quantico, from ABC Studios and producer Mark Gordon, was a breakout when it debuted in 2015, setting delayed viewing lift records. But with its dense narrative and heavy serialisation, the series started to lose momentum in the second half of its first season and continued to see declines through season 2 and into season 3.

Priyanka Chopra has chosen not to comment on the same till now. It is important to note that this is her last season at Quantico as the show will not be renewed by ABC.  After this, she would return to India to shoot for Salman Khan’s Bharat.
