Priyanka, AR Rahman to perform at the Bryan Adams concert in India

Adams will start off his tour in Ahmedabad (9 October) followed by his performance in Hyderabad, 11 October, Mumbai, 12 October and Bengaluru, 13 October

New Delhi: Bollywood queen Priyanka Chopra is all ready to rock the stage as she will be performing at Bryan Adams’ concert in India. Moreover, music maestro AR Rehman will also grace the opening act of the event with his presence.

The International Rockstar’s tour is scheduled to last for 5 days. Adams will start off his tour in Ahmedabad (9 October) followed by his performance in Hyderabad, 11 October, Mumbai, 12 October and Bengaluru, 13 October. The final day of the tour will be in Delhi, 14 October. Adams last visited India back in 2011. He performed in four cities including Pune, Hyderabad, Mumbai, and Bangalore. Though, his fifth show in Delhi was cancelled due to NOC reasons.

A source reveals, “Initially, the promoters weren’t keen on any opening act to ensure that the focus is solely on the artiste. But since Adams has worked with Priyanka previously, and AR Rahman has been Adams’ favourite musician from India, the promoters are finding a way to creatively rope in both the artists. And although there is room for only one opening act, the promoters are trying to find a middle path. Additionally, a special act is being considered where all three will pay homage to the recent Kerala floods.”

Even though the details are yet to be chalked out, the source adds that Priyanka and Rahman will mostly perform in Mumbai and Delhi, apart from one other city in the tour line-up.

According to reports, Bollywood top star Amitabh Bachchan and newest sensation Prabhas may host a bash for Bryan Adams in their respective cities. Moreover, stars like Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan and the hot-couple Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone are supposedly going to be present for the party and the concert.

About visiting India for the fifth time, Adams had earlier said, “Namaste India. India is one of my favourite places in the whole world. The love and generosity that I have experienced here are immense and I am eternally grateful for the opportunity to perform again in this beautiful country.”
