Pooja Bhatt on alcoholism: ‘Kal kisne dekha after all?’

After showing a lot of promise with her debut in Daddy, Pooja Bhatt grabbed news headlines for all the wrong reasons through the 1990s

Filmmaker and former Bollywood actress Pooja Bhatt has written about her struggle to get over her alcoholism after her refusal to speak about her private life for nearly three years. she has written on Instagram, “If I can do this, you can too.” She will return to the big screen with her father Mahesh Bhatt’s film Sadak 2.

Pooja Bhatt wrote on the social medium, “Two years & ten months sober today.. time to reflect on the past & absorb the now.. Kal Kisne Dekha after all? To any and all of you who are battling your demons & grappling with addiction issues, know that you’re not alone. If I could do it,you can too. And if you flounder or fall, pick yourself up and keep going.. the rewards are multiple in more ways than one!”

Pooja posts on Instagram

Pooja joined words and hashtagged them in the Instagram post as though she were trying to give a message to her followers. They include hashtags like ‘sobriety rocks’, ‘one day at a time’, ‘one step at a time’, ‘be your own hero’, ‘stay positive’, etc.

Pooja’s followers extended their support and encouragement to her on her post. One follower wrote, “Proud of you!” Another called her “my inspiration”. The post has received more than 4,000 likes at the time of reporting. She has shared two photos with the post. In both the pictures, She is seen sitting on the floor and holding what looks like a ceramic glass in her hand.

While in the early 1990s Pooja had shown a lot of promise with her debut in Daddy, she was rarely cast in films that were not produced or directed by her father Mahesh Bhatt or uncle Mukesh Bhatt. A few years after her debut, she began making news headlines for all the wrong reasons like substance abuse, a raucous affair with Ranveer Sheorey, their televised break up, and her father kissing her on the lips.

She was the woman protagonist in Sadak opposite Sanjay Dutt that had catapulted Sadashiv Amrapurkar playing a eunuch to the status of a legendary villain.

She is working also in the sequel of the film. It stars her stepsister Alia Bhatt besides Sanjay Dutt and Aditya Roy Kapoor. The sisters have shared many pictures of the shoot on Instagram.
