Ponting plays mind game before Australia face India

the former Aussie captain has predicted a 2-1 win of his country in the ODI series against India that is beginning on 14 January

Australian cricketers are known to approach the game like pugilists who talk big before a bout so as to intimidate the opponent. Former Australia captain Ricky Ponting is no different. He has predicted that India will be desperate to settle the previous series loss, but a confident Australia will win the ODI series starting tomorrow 2–1.

After a great performance in the domestic season, the Aron Finch-led Australia team is full of confidence. In the domestic season, Australia has won the series against Pakistan and New Zealand.

On the other hand, India will be desperate to avenge the 2-3 home defeat against Australia in March last year. Ricky Ponting, captain of Australia’s World Cup-winning team and an admirer of MS Dhoni, answered many questions while talking with his fans on Twitter.

When a fan asked to predict the outcome of the ODI series, Ponting said that his country would win the series. Ponting tweeted, “Australia is full of confidence after a great performance in the World Cup and a great season of Test cricket, but India will be desperate to avenge the loss of the last ODI series against Australia.” The prediction is that Australia will win 2–1. ‘

Running in great form in Test cricket, Marnus Labuschagne is expected to make his ODI debut against India. When asked about his debut, Ponting said, “I think he will do well for Australia in the middle order.” He is a very good player against spin and his race between wickets is very good, he is a good fielder. Overall he is a very good player.

In the ODI series played in March 2019 last year, Australia defeated India in the ODI series 3-2 after trailing 0-2 in the series. After losing the first two ODIs played in Hyderabad and Nagpur, Australia came back strongly and won the series by defeating India in three consecutive ODIs, which was not an easy target.

The first ODI between India and Australia will be played on 14 January 2020 in Mumbai. After this, the second ODI is to be played on January 17 in Rajkot and the third ODI in Bengaluru on January 19.
