Pilot spells 'Never Forget' with flight path to mark 20 yrs of 9/11 attacks in US

Americans and countless people from other countries took to social media to remember 9/11 and pay tribute to the victims of Islamic terrorism and their families. Some people did a little extra to remind people of 9/11. A pilot from Northern California marked the 20th anniversary of the terror attacks by writing ‘Never Forget’ with the help of a flight path.

Twenty years ago, the US suffered its most devastating terrorist attack ever that claimed the lives of 2,996 people. The casualty list included the 184 people who died in the Pentagon crash and 40 who died while preventing United Airlines Flight 93 from hitting its target. Millions around the world still talk about it every day.

Christopher Pryce, a major who has served in the Air Force since 2003, took to the skies as a pilot and used flight path to write “Never Forget” on the map.

He decided to do this on the flight after watching Turning Point: 9/11 and the War on Terror with his wife Katy.

“Last night when we were sitting there watching it, I drew up the flight plan and drew all the letters and thought,” he told a local news channel.

Pryce took off from Nut Tree in his hometown of Vacaville at about 10:45 AM. After flying for nearly two and a half hours, Pilot Pryce was able to chart on the map the words he had thought: “NEVER FORGET”.

Flight tracking firm Flightradar 24 captured Pryce’s path across the skies and shared a photo of it on their Twitter page.

The tweet has now racked up more than 2,000 likes and close to 500 retweets.

“When I need time to unwind, I go flying in the airplane that I built. So that was my goal today, to just unwind and reflect,” said the pilot.
