Passenger of IndiGo flight lights cigarette mid-air, held

Another incident of the type had happened on an Ahmedabad-to-Goa IndiGo flight where the passenger was found smoking in the toilet

New Delhi: An air passenger has been detained after being found smoking in an IndiGo flight coming to Goa from Delhi.

Air passenger Narendra Singh had entered the toilet of flight number 6E 637 and started smoking. The cabin crew literally got a whiff of the foul air. Springing to action, the crew informed the pilot of the passenger’s misdemeanor.

The aircraft landed at Delhi airport at 5.55 PM after which the ATC was informed for immediate security help.

Singh was handed over to the CISF. After some time, the Delhi Police took him into custody.

DCP (Airport) Sanjay Bhatia, while confirming the incident, said, “We have registered a case of non-cognisable offense on the basis of a complaint of the IndiGo staff in this regard.”

One such incident had happened on the day of Christmas on another IndiGo flight: Ahmedabad to Goa. A passenger was then found smoking in the airplane toilet.
