Mumbai: Finally, Anushka Sharma has released the trailer of her own production Pari. The trailer has several spine-chilling moments and it’s difficult not to feel spooked out whilst watching it. It seems to revolve around a woman, who is possessed by a spirit. It hints at ‘Satan worship’, which has gone wrong.
The film will release on 2 March on the occasion of Holi. It’s produced by Anushka Sharma’s production house Clean Slate Productions and Kriarj Entertainment. The actor took to Twitter on Thursday, to reveal the trailer after revealing three “screamers” and two scary as hell posters.

Even her husband and Indian skipper Virat Kohli tweeted for her movie “Can’t wait to watch my one and only in an avatar never seen before and I’m blown away already, meanwhile, was all praise for his wife’s latest stint.
The horror teaser scared fellow Bollywood star Ranveer Singh out of his wits, as seen from his comments on Anushka’s Instagram post.
Ranveer Singh commented on Anushka’s post about the teaser saying, “BAAAAAAP Re’ not once but twice. You can imagine how shocked he is! Imagine the sweet girl from Jab Harry Met Sejal and now think about a deadly ghost… we know! it’s damn scary and Ranveer felt the chills too.
Anushka made her acting debut opposite Shah Rukh Khan in the highly successful romance Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi (2008), which earned a Filmfare Award for Best Actress nomination. She had her biggest commercial successes with the roles of a television reporter in the religious satire PK (2014) and a wrestler in the sports drama Sultan (2016), both of which rank among the highest-grossing Indian films.
This period saw the popularity of horror films in India increasing, with a number of popular titles. Though it was disappointing for horror films in the 90s, it took almost 10 years for another big hit in this genre. This was 2002’s Raaz directed by Vikram Bhatt. Raaz alongside Raat director, Ram Gopal Varma’s 2003 hit Bhoot, reinvigorated horror films at the Indian box office. The two directors continued making horror with Bhatt finding equal financial success with titles such as 1920 (2008); Haunted 3D (2011) and Horror Story (2013). Whilst Varma similarly had further success with Phoonk (2008), however, unlike Vikram Bhatt, Varma’s horror offerings were duds at the box office post-2009.
Currently, there are dozens of horror films produced every year in India, prominent recent examples include Ragini MMS and its sequel, the self-proclaimed horrex (horror and sex) Ragini MMS 2 (2014). Bipasha Basu has been dubbed by the Indian media as Bollywood’s very own scream queen, having starred in 7 horror films from Raaz (2002) to Alone (2015).
This is the third film that is being produced under Anushka’s own banner Clean Slate Films. She already has two movies under her belt as a producer with NH10 and Phillauri.
