Disputes, if any, subject to jurisdiction in New Delhi

Ballia: On the one hand, Union Minister for External Affairs Sushma Swaraj tries to allay fears of the minorities by saying that international Islamic forums have embraced India under the Narendra Modi rule. On the other, elements in the BJP like MLA Surendra Singh from Baria of Ballia, who has a penchant for grabbing headlines for all the wrong reasons, does everything to make Muslims consolidate in favour of any force that has the maximum probability of defeating the BJP.

On Sunday, Singh targeted Muslims of the country. He said the community comprised traitors. “They are terrorist by nature,” he added.

Singh said when the BJP retains power again at the Centre, “those who wish to break the country will be permanently broken”.

BJP legislator Singh represents the Baria region of Ballia district. While talking to reporters on Sunday, he reacted to the statement of Yogi Adityanath where the chief minister had likened the Muslim League to a “virus”.

Referring to Muslims, Singh said that barring some glorious exceptions like APJ Abdul Kalam and Param Veer Chakra Abdul Hamid, “most people of this society are anti-national and are terrorist by nature”.

“In the era of Modi and Yogi, this virus is not going to flourish,” Singh said.

Singh said further that if Narendra Modi again forms the government at the Centre, those who wish to break the country will be permanently broken.
