Modi donates for the well-being of daughters of govt employees

“Even as he bid farewell to Gujarat and headed for Delhi to be sworn-in as India’s Prime Minister, Narendra Modi once again showed his compassion and commitment to girl child education,” informs narendramodi.in.

Before leaving for Delhi, Modi donated Rs 21 lakh from his personal savings towards the upbringing and welfare of the daughters of drivers and help staff employed with the State government. A corpus fund would be created for this and a foundation would be set up for its administration, under the new chief minister and chief secretary.

This is along the lines of Modi’s commitment towards ensuring girl child education, for which he had initiated the Kanya Kelavani campaign in Gujarat as its chief minister. The gifts received by Modi were also auctioned and the proceeds were donated to the Kanya Kelavani Fund.
