Madhuri Dixit to replace late actress Sridevi in Shiddat

Sridevi was to next seen in Karan Johar’s Shiddat, under the Dharma Productions’ banner

Mumbai: The unfortunate demise of legendary actress Sridevi has left everyone in grief. The 54-year entertainment personality returned to film industry with the success of Mom and English Vinglish. She was very excited to be part of Karan Johar’s upcoming production venture Shiddat.

Actress Sridevi passed away in Dubai on 24 February 2018 due to accidental drowning.

As per our reliable sources, the dhak-dhak girl Madhuri Dixit will replace Sridevi. The film which features a stellar ensemble cast of Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt, Sanjay Dutt, Sonakshi Singa and Aditya Roy Kapur, was to have a crucial role to be played by Sridevi.

Since Madhuri is close to Karan Johar, she feels it’ll be her way to pay a memorable tribute to Sridevi, if she becomes the part of this project.

The shooting of Karan Johar’s film was being planned and was to go on floors in a month or next.

The film will be directed by Abhishek Varman of 2 States fame and it also marks the fourth collaboration of Varun and Johar after Student of the Year, Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania and .

Varun Dhawan is busy for Shoojit Sircar’s October and YRF’s Sui Dhaaga. Both films are slated to release in 2018. If Madhuri Dixit comes on board for Shiddat, it’ll indeed be a great news for all Sanjay Dutt and Madhuri fans.

On the other hand, Alia has some interesting projects for us in her store with films like Raazi, Brahmastra and Gully Boy.

The makers are going to play up that angle and how the country was shaken post the announcement of the Indo-Pak partition.

Sridevi was one of the most successful superstars of her time. She starred in several blockbuster movies and changed the face of the industry. Even her second innings with English Vinglish and Mom won hearts.

The actor will be seen in Zero with a special appearance for which she had already shot back in October in 2017.

Zero will be her last film which is set to release in Christmas 2018.
