Shamsher Alam kills

New Delhi: Members of the family of the businessman who was allegedly killed on by his neighbours, Mohammed Shamsher Alam, his brothers and father, after they made lewd remarks about his daughter last Saturday met with Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Wednesday.

The victim’s daughter, wife and father, along with Union minister Vijay Goel and AAP’s rebel MLA Kapil Mishra and JD(U) leader KC Tyagi, went to meet the home minister.

The victim’s 19-year-old son was injured in this attack too. He is getting treated in an ICU.

Goyal said that the four accused have been arrested but the family has alleged that some women also were involved in this incident and they should be arrested as well. “We demanded that their role be investigated too,” he said.

Goyal said that this incident sent a strong message to the Delhi Police to be more cautious.

In a letter to the home minister, Tyagi requested him that the dependents of the 52-year-old businessman should be given a job, compensation of Rs 50 lakh and security.

In this incident, a 20-year-old man and his 45-year-old father were arrested.

The 45-year-old man has two other sons, and they have been arrested in connection with the crime.

Mohammed Shamsher Alam has criminal antecedents

The police had informed the media yesterday that the boys had made some obscene remarks and comments about businessman Dhruv Raj Tyagi’s 24-year-old daughter when she was returning home with her father at the WZ block of Basai Darapur village near Moti Nagar on a two-wheeler vehicle from a hospital, Saturday night.

As they approached their house, Mohammed Shamsher Alam and his brothers who were just loitering around in the streets made licentious comments about the girl. Tyagi was incensed at these men whom he knew, but he first ensured the security of his daughter by dropping her home. Then, he went to the house of Shamsher Alam to complain to his parents.

Amit, Tyagi’s nephew, said, “This was not the first time the youths had misbehaved. My uncle had decided to end it once and for all by complaining to their parents, hoping that this would change their behaviour.”

Shamsher Alam’s father, Jehangir, however, instead of entertaining the complaint, abused Tyagi. Soon, his sons returned home. They threatened Tyagi first and then Shamsher stabbed him. Anmol, the victim’s son, rushed to the spot, but he was stabbed too.

When police arrived, they admitted the father and son to a private hospital where Tyagi succumbed to his injuries sustained in the liver, kidney and intestines on Monday in the afternoon. The injuries and heavy bleeding led to a heart attack that the victim could not survive.

Therefore, the case under CrPC Sections of an attempt to murder that had been registered on Sunday was converted to a case of murder against the accused, two of whom are minors.

At the initial phase of the investigation, the police have come to know that Shamsher Alam had earlier been jailed in an attempt-to-murder case and was recently released.

Shamsher Alam has been involved in several cases of assault.
