Kick 2: Salman Khan starrer to release on Christmas 2019

Mumbai: Devil is back in Kick 2. It is a happy news for all Salman Khan fans. The producers of Kick 2, featuring superstar Salman Khan, have booked next Christmas for the release of the film.

Production banner Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment today took to their official Twitter handle to make the announcement.

“The wait is over! #DEVILisBACK! #SajidNadiadwala’s ‘Kick 2‘ starring @BeingSalmanKhan releases Christmas 2019.

@WardaNadiadwala,” the tweet read.

The movie is the sequel to the 2014 action film, which also starred Randeep Hooda, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, and Jacqueline Fernandez.

Sajid Nadiadwala also returns as director. This will be his second directorial after Kick. The movie was an official remake of the 2009 Telugu movie Kick.

Salman will have two releases next year as Ali Abbas Zafar’s Bharat will also release on Eid 2019. While the festival has been lucky for the star and has given him hits like Wanted, Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Dabangg, Christmas proved to be his best shot yet when Zafar’s spy thriller Tiger Zinda Hai became Khan’s highest grosser so far. The film that released on Christmas 2017 is still running successfully in theatres.

Salman is currently shooting for Remo D’Souza’s action thriller Race 3 opposite Jacqueline Fernandez, who was also cast opposite him in Kick 2. Race 3 will release on Eid this year. The star is then likely to commence shooting for Bharat and Prabhu Deva’s action entertainer Dabangg 3 at the same time.

However, the release date of Dabangg 3 has not been announced yet. If it also releases next year, it will be after years that Salman will have three releases within the same calendar year.

The 2014 film Kick had Jacqueline Fernandez, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Randeep Hooda in pivotal roles. Though Nawaz’s character was killed off in the first part, we are not sure if Jacqueline and Randeep will be a part of the sequel too.
Reports have it, an international action star might star alongside the superstar in Kick 2.
