Bathinda: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief, Arvind Kejriwal, ended speculations on Wednesday that he will be the chief ministerial candidate of Punjab, saying that as he is the chief minister of Delhi so he can’t become the Punjab chief minister.stating that the Punjab chief minister will be from the state itself if his party wins the February 4 assembly polls, but he added that “whoever becomes Chief Minister, it will be my responsibility that all promises made by AAP are fulfilled.”
Speculation started doing rounds after Senior AAP leader Manish Sisodia and deputy chief minister of Delhi, told people in Mohali on Tuesday that they should vote “assuming that Arvind Kejriwal will be the Chief Minister of Punjab”.
SAD have already been accusing Kejriwal of sidelining local leaders from the party who could have posed a challenge to Kejriwal in Punjab as a “conspiracy to foist Kejriwal on Punjab”. Which would give full control of the state to “outsiders” (non-Punjabi).
Indian National Congress (INC) leader and probably the party’s chief ministerial candidate Capt Amarinder Singh said that the AAP leader had an “obsessive and abominable lust for Punjab’s chief ministerial position.”
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has till now refrained from declaring its chief ministerial face, saying that CM would be elected by legislators after the polls.
