New Delhi: Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani’s Kabir Singh got a smashing opening this Friday and Saturday. The film got Rs 20.21 crore as its box office collection on the first day.
Kabir Singh has emerged as Shahid Kapoor’s biggest opener so far. Before this movie, his highest box office collection on opening day was Rs 19 crore for the movie Padmaavat. Shahid has got a breakthrough from this film, which may play a vital role in his career in Bollywood.
Arjun Reddy (Telugu) made Vijay Deverakonda an overnight star in the Hyderabad film industry. Two years later, director Sandeep Reddy Vanga came back with the Hindi remake of his hit film.
Shahid Kapoor’s performance has justified the Hindi remake. His fans are thronging the theatres in large numbers.

This film has been released in 3,123 screens across India. Kabir Singh has managed to get a superb opening at the box office. This is one of the most-anticipated films of 2019. Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani have played their character up to the expectations of the fans, as per the audience feedback.
Although fans are thronging the theatre in large numbers, the film has failed to impress critics. Some have slammed the film for copying every scene from Arjun Reddy; others have blasted it for glamourising misogyny, much as this criticism was hardly heard when the original in Telugu was out.
The lead character Kabir Singh spends 2 h of its duration of 154 min either drinking, drunk, snorting cocaine, needling in morphine, fighting with people, slapping his girlfriend or screaming at her. In the remaining 24 min, he repents!
This Sandeep Reddy Vanga movie revolves around a medical student who goes down the road of self-destruction after a failed relationship.
