‘I don’t do everything for elections…’

New Delhi: सिर्फ़ News has run into another exclusive story. In the evening of 8 November when Prime Minister Narendra Modi rushed into the Cabinet meeting and rushed out to the Rashtrapati Bhavan, he saw two ministers who were crest fallen. Was this the best time to do it, they wondered.

“Modi ji, ham chunav har jayenge (Modi ji, we will lose the elections),” they said almost in a chorus.

“I don’t do everything keeping elections in mind. I did this for the country. That’s the spirit in which you must take it,” Modi asserted and left for the exit even as these ministers were still depressed.

At the door, he halted. And he walked back to these ministers. He said, “But we’ll win these elections, too.”
