Mumbai: The cyber cell of the Mumbai Police could neither confirm nor deny that actress Kangana Ranaut had been using a fake email account of actor Hrithik Roshan to claim that he had had an affair with her, as Roshan had alleged.

“We have been unable to find anything on the mail ID as the server is located in the US. Now it is very difficult to ascertain who was using the account. Still, we will try to conclude (the case) from the available evidence.” Joint Commissioner of Police, Crime Branch, Sanjay Saxena, has been quoted as saying by a tabloid.
“It’s a dead end. Only data from the server based in the US could have helped us in identifying the user of the email account,” a police officer told the tabloid.

Ranaut is passing this off as a victory of sorts. Reacting to the closure of the case, her lawyer Rizwan Siddiquee said, “We are not surprised to learn that the police have, after a thorough investigation, filed a NIL report, which means that they could not trace any imposter as was claimed by Hrithik Roshan… Kangana has always been maintaining that there was no imposter ever.”
The police could not lay its hands on any other evidence to prove the claim of any party to the dispute, though. The two actors had got into this silly fight beginning with each side claiming the other to be silly. Ranaut had seen her ouster from a proposed film, where she was earlier promised to be cast opposite Roshan, as a “silly” act by her “ex”.
Roshan, in turn, alleged that the claim that the two was into an affair was “silly”. Unlike the actress’s detailed interview on India Today, however, the actor never appeared on television with his sob story.
