An event like Howdy Modi may welcome US President Donald Trump in India to influence the Indian-American voters in the presidential elections to be held in November this year. After the success of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s highly popular Howdy event in Houston of the US in November last year, Trump may attend one such function in BJP’s stronghold Gujarat. Ahmedabad may host the event during the proposed visit of the US president to India in February.

According to the organisers who are preparing for Donald Trump’s programmes in India, if the US president’s itinerary has visits to cities other than Delhi, the government may ask the American counterpart to reschedule it in a manner so that Ahmedabad gets to hist Trump first. Ahmedabad is the place where preparations are being made for the Howdy Trump event. is. According to the organisers, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will join the event along with Trump.

According to sources, on the lines of Howdy Modi in the US, American citizens of Gujarati origin will participate in the Howdy Trump-like event dubbed as “Kem chho, Mr President?” Gujarati for “How do you do, Mr President?” Apart from this, during the visit of Trump to India, the two countries may sign several bilateral deals.

A team led by Union Industry and Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal is finalising the draft of the deal.
