Thanks to the Ministry of External Affairs' (MEA) effort to smoothen the process for citizens seeking passport-related services, the facility to apply for police clearance certificates at all online Post Office Passport Seva Kendras (POPSKs) across India will be easier, starting from Wednesday (28 September). Making this announcement, the MEA said it made the decision to address the unanticipated surge in demand for clearance certificates.
This step would significantly add to the availability of police clearance certificates' appointment slots. What's more, the certificate will arrive at an earlier date than before.
The measure by the MEA to extend the application facility for police clearance certificate to POPSKs would not only help Indian citizens seeking employment abroad but also meet the demand for other requirements of the certificate such as in the case of education, long-term visa, emigration, etc, the MEA said.
