New Delhi: Union minister Giriraj Singh had expressed his displeasure after getting the BJP ticket for Nawada Lok Sabha seat. The party’s national president Amit Shah, however, posted a tweet that had a firm message on Wednesday.

Putting all speculations to rest, Shah convinced Singh to contest the Lok Sabha election from Begusarai. The BJP president said that he has resolved Singh’s problems.

Shah tweeted, “Giriraj Singh will contest Lok Sabha elections from Begusarai of Bihar. I have heard him out and the organisation will resolve all the problems. I convey my best wishes to him for the election.”

Giriraj Singh, breaking his silence on Monday, said he did not expect not getting the ticket from Nawada.

Singh had said on Monday, “I have no hope. I was told that BJP state president Nityanand Rai had said that I could fight from wherever I wanted.”

When asked if he considered somebody responsible for fielding him from Begusarai, Singh said, “I do not know. The state president could tell you about this.”

However, now BJP’s No. 2 Shah has confirmed that Singh will contest the Lok Sabha election from Begusarai. Now Singh said with a submissive tenor, “I was a karyakarta (party worker), I am a karyakarta, I will remain a karyakarta.”

Hours later, Singh said he had never used a word of resentment. “I was pained inside. Today I met with party president Amit Shah ji and I thank him that he kept listening to my story for hours. He resolved my problem and suffering. I thank him,” Singh said, adding that he will now contest for the BJP from Begusarai with a refreshed mind.

Giriraj Singh had won the Nawada Lok Sabha seat in the 2014 Lok Sabha election.

According to the announcement of a division of seats on Sunday by the NDA in Bihar, Nawada Lok Sabha seat has now moved to LJP’s account and Singh or the BJP has got Begusarai, under the seat-sharing arrangement between allies.
