Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate a newly-built five-star hotel atop the redeveloped Gandhinagar railway station and dedicate various development projects to Gujarat virtually from Delhi

The new Gandhinagar Capital railway station is set to be inaugurated this week as India’s first redeveloped station. There is a concourse for departing passengers and two subways for arriving passengers. The station can handle 1,500 passengers in peak hours and when the concourse comes into use, this number will go up to 2,200. There are retail, and other outlets also planned.

Here are some service-oriented features:

  • Segregated entry and exit surrounded by landscaped area.
  • Parking facilities have been provided for 163 cars, 40 autos and 120 two-wheelers
  • The three platforms are well-connected through two subways.
  • The waiting area at the platform has a capacity to seat 480 passengers.
  • Double height entrance lobby with spacious ticketing facility.
  • Seamless wi-fi connectivity on the entire station.
