Reasons:
1. Brazil to lose in semis : losing Neymar & Silva is a big blow and team has not shown the flair to win the cup.
2. Dutch to lose in semis : they have all the firepower in the front but lack good defence.. they have only scored on counters till now.. I think Argentina will play little defensive and an occasional brilliance from Messi should see them through.
3. Argentina to lose & Germany to win in final : Germany has shown that they are equally good in all departments I.e. forward, midfield, defence & more importantly goal keeping.. They should play with full strength and Di maria’s absence could prove fatal for Argentina against Germany..
Conclusion:
Golden ball : Messi
Golden gloves : Neuer
Young player :Paul Pogba
Golden boot : Rodriguez

Sundar Viswanathan: It will be Brazil Argentina. Home court advantage and the fan base being far too sentimental about the sport. Germany was not that impressive although high ranked. Messi shows his coolness despite being a super star who does not draw attention upon himself (unlike few other superstars). -

Similarly Argentina have injury problem. Di Maria and Sergio Augero are injured. Holland playing relatively better football. But Argentina have 1 man army called Messi.

Avdhesh Sapru: Germany will be champions in all likelihood. Too much efficiency in defence for the Brazillian attack and, as evident in their quarter final against France, an ability to attack that rivals the rest in the fray. Once in the finals they’ll prevail because they’re a more efficient all round team than Argentina and mentally much stronger than Netherlands. Naturally, any of the stars of the other 3 teams can undo this calculation in a moment or three of genius – although Germany is most equipped of the lot to dry up passes to extraordinary individuals and/or crowding them out of contention if they receive a pass.
