New Delhi — The due date for e-filing returns of income for the assessment year 2015-16 has been extended up to 7 September for all taxpayers who were required to e-file their returns of income by 31 August.
The government had received various representations from taxpayers that they were facing difficulties in e-filing returns across the country due to slowing down of certain e-services on 31 August.
This is the second extension of the due date. Earlier, it was extended till 31 August for taxpayers who were required to file their tax return by 31 July.
