In his address to the nation, PM Modi said, “Lockdown of 21 days is a long time, but this is important for you and your family’s safety. I believe that every Indian will not only successfully tackle this challenge but also emerge victorious in this time of crisis.” The number of positive cases in the country has crossed 515.
Celebrities like Taapsee Pannu, Shreya Ghoshal, Pawan Kalyan, Richa Chadha, Anil Kapoor and Vishal Dadlani among others have endorsed PM Modi’s announcement.
Singer Kanika Kapoor has been tested positive for coronavirus and is currently seeking treatment in Lucknow.
Anupam Kher, Prabhas, Sonam Kapoor and a few other celebrities who recently returned from foreign trips have been in self-quarantine for the past few days.
In Hollywood, celebrities like Tom Hanks, Idris Elba, Daniel Dae Kim, Andy Cohen and a few others have tested positive for coronavirus.
Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli, in a video, talked about keeping patience for 21 days in order to fight coronavirus. The two asked fans to stay united and save the country by staying home.

Some of the major films whose release have been deferred due to coronavirus are Sooryavanshi, Mulan, Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar, and Haathi Mere Saathi. The launch of Star Plus’ show Anupama and Colors TV show Ishq Mein Marjawan has also been delayed due to coronavirus outbreak. Major film festivals like Cannes Film Festival, San Francisco International Film Festival and Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles have been put on hold until further notice.
