While some companies have made news during and after the nationwide and worldwide lockdown necessitated by the China-origin Covid-19 pandemic for hiked salaries as a mark of appreciation of employees’ labour helping the business ventures sustain and succeed, the CEO of this company gifted five of the top management heads with a BMW car each. What’s heartening for all, it’s an Indian company.
Chennai-based software-as-a-service company Kissflow Inc has gifted “shimmering new beamers” to five of its employees, reports Times Now citing a PTI story. The company gave BMW cars, worth over Rs 1 crore each, to five of its senior management workers to “honour their loyalty and commitment”.
The gifting ceremony was kept confidential until a few hours before the event when the company told the five praiseworthy employees that they were soon going to be proud owners of a new set of expensive new wheels. Kissflow Inc CEO Suresh Sambandam said the five employees were with the company right from its inception, helping it “dig gold” during the pandemic. He said some of the employees came from humble backgrounds and had faced significant challenges before joining the company.
The company faced several roadblocks while trying to navigate through the tough business environment during the pandemic. Some investors even raised doubts about the smooth functioning of the company at the time.
“Today we are very happy that we have paid back the investors and now it has become a fully owned privately held company,” he said.
“The cars are for these five who were with me when I dug 100 feet for gold (setting up Kissflow while others left the organisation midway),” Sambandam added.
