Bob Biswas such a killer, he got Shah Rukh, Abhishek

The antagonist of the film Kahaani, Bob Biswas had turned a cult in 2012 and now a film is going to be made with him as the central character

Actor Shah Rukh Khan is all set to turn the character Bob Biswas from Vidya Balan-starrer Kahaani into a full-fledged feature film. Abhishek Bachchan will play the lead role. Khan shared this information on Twitter on Monday. He is the co-producer of this film.

The makers of Bob Biswas are Red Chillies Entertainment of SRK and director Sujoy Ghosh’s Bound Script Production. Khan tweeted a picture with Bachchan Jr, saying “Bob Biswas is coming to ‘kill it!'” He said it was a pleasure to partner with Bound Script Production.

Abhishek Bachchan will play Bob Biswas in this film. Divya Annapurna Ghosh is directing it.

Bob Biswas is a character from Sujoy Ghosh’s Kahaani. Biswas was a contract killer who masqueraded as an LIC agent in the 2012 film. This character was played by Saswata Chatterjee.

Bachchan said he was eager to work in the film. He tweeted, “Excited to announce my next film!! Bob Biswas. Can’t wait to get started. Working with many favourites. @iamsrk @gaurikhan @sujoy_g@_GauravVerma #DiyaAnnapurnaGhosh

Sujoy said that he needed “blessings and wishes” for the film.

Bob Biswas in Kahaani is a poker-faced killer, a murderer who would flinch while killing after introducing himself to his ill-fated target with a Bengali-accented “Nomoskar, ek minit (Hello, just a minute)!”. He is the kind of character that could turn a cult figure like Gabbar Singh played by the late Amjad Khan in Sholay but didn’t.

Bob became a trend on Twitter in the year when Kahaani was released. Firstpost called him a “national obsession”. Several YouTube videos put him in the league of Gabbar Singh of Sholay, Kancha Cheena played by Sanjay Dutt in the Agneepath remake. He even became a promoter of commercial products and services.

Come to think of it, Bob Biswas had just about 5 min in Kahaani, and that was all the character needed to turn a sensation.
